Why PlateReaderMap exists
Camera records, public audit releases, policies, and procurement documents are spread across many systems. PlateReaderMap organizes what can be responsibly sourced into a neutral, readable view of location patterns, manufacturers, and change over time.
The project is designed to become more useful as it collects validated snapshots. It distinguishes changes in a public source dataset from confirmed changes in the physical world and leaves unknown fields unknown.
What independence means
PlateReaderMap is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Flock Safety, another ALPR manufacturer, a law-enforcement agency, or a government body. Manufacturer names are used only to describe sourced public data.
Product boundaries
The site is built for public-interest research and transparency. It does not provide camera-avoidance routing, “safe routes,” driver alerts, bulk plate tools, or a public download of the assembled camera or plate-search corpus.
